The last manned lighthouse in the whole of the UK. It was finally automated in 1998. 

There has been a light on this point since 1691, keeping shipping from running aground.

I have walked, cycled, driven and sailed past this landmark. It’s at the top of a hill (unsurprising, given its role), so I am mostly breathing hard by the time I get there!

This is a beacon - of hope and safety.
