Windy at the Beach
Windy at the Beach
I nearly got blown away in this painting! I was standing on the harbour arm in Ramsgate, looking north to the little beach that nestles behind Ramsgate Harbour. There was a woman in a bright red raincoat and a little dog that was racing up and down the beach around her. It was so windy, but otherwise a bright and shiny autumn day.
I love that stretch of coastline between Margate, Cliftonville and Ramsgate - between the cliffs and the houses perched and the broad sandy beaches, it has a little of everything. British seaside magic - salty chips, a pint of local ale, and the biting tang of the north sea.
If you’re looking for me, this is where I will be.
